CONCORD— A Springville-Griffith Institute bus driver is in stable condition after a collision with a tractor-trailer left her trapped in a school bus earlier this morning.
Marlene Galabek, 56 of Springville, was traveling southbound on Springville-Boston Road when she struck a tractor-trailer traveling westbound on Genesee Road that had failed to stop for a stop sign.
The accident took place at 8:37 Wednesday morning and Golabek was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
David Barry, from Denton, Md, was identified as the tractor-trailer driver. The 26 year old was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, failure to yield the right of way and a log book violation.
The investigation is still on-going. Assisting at the scene were the East Concord Fire Company and the Village of Springville Fire Department.
