Exchange of Nason Boulevard approved
Thursday January 5, 2012 | By:Chris Proctor

Deputy Mayor Jean Moncreiff called to order a special meeting of the Springville Village Board of Trustees on Dec. 7 in order to facilitate Nason’s Trucking Company’s sale of its Nason Boulevard property to a third party.
By a unanimous vote of 3-0, the board agreed to exchange a small triangular plot of land on the west side of Nason Boulevard for a slightly larger, rectangular-shaped piece of property on the east side.
The properties in question had been the subject of discussion at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 5, and the special meeting was granted so the company and the buyer could finish negotiations before the holidays. The Nason Trucking Company was a local economic mainstay until its doors closed in September 2010.
Village Administrator Tim Horner, Superintendent of Public Works Karl Lux and Village Attorney Audrey Seeley were in attendance to assist trustees Moncreiff, James Bentley and Gerald Lohrey in making the decision to swap properties. The property acquired by the village is adjacent to Fireman’s Park, while Nason’s will legally take over a parcel of land that the owners had previously fenced around and paved over.
In other board news:
- The trustees approved the appointment of Eric Kaderli to the Springville Police Department. Kaderli, who is currently serving with the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, had previously spent eight years on the Springville force.
- The board voted Darlene Schweikert to the position of village registrar. She is replacing the now-retired Mary “Beth” Bolt.
- Lux submitted a change order for additional work at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The board approved an increase of $14,096 for overhead door improvements and bar screen building elevation modifications.
The next village board meeting is scheduled for Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
