Rodney H. “Hot Rod” Harris, 68, of Delevan, died June 4 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
He was born Feb. 4, 1945 in Springville, to the late Ronald and Marion (nee Lindsley) Harris.
He was a highway superintendent, for the town of Machias, a retired West Valley fireman, fisherman, hunter and cook. He had been a bulldozer operator for Rick Perkins in Franklinville and Yansick Lumber Co. in Arcade.
He was the husband of Deahann (nee Howard) Harris. Father of Tammy Harris of Webster, N.Y.; Kim (Ben) Keyes of Portsmouth, Va. and Kristy Harris of Rochester. Grandfather of Adrian and Clare Prizzi, Morgan Cherrone and Alley Campbell. He was the twin of Ronald (Mary) Harris of Pittsburgh, Pa. and brother of Becki (Wayne) Fuller of Collins. Also survived by Ruth Gernatt of Erie Pa. and several nieces and nephews.

Stephen W. Murphy, 65, of Delevan, formerly of Springville, died June 5 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Buffalo.
He was born in Salamanca on June 28, 1947, to Francis and Theresa (nee Skalat) Murphy.
He served with the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a life member of the Franklinville Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Bliss American Legion and a woodworker. He was a self-employed logger and truck driver.
He was the father of Aaron (Stephanie) Murphy of Cuba, N.Y.; Darrell (Kelly) Murphy of Delevan and Eric (Barb) Murphy of Bliss, N.Y. Son of Theresa (Louie Turrie) Murphy of Sardinia and Francis Murphy of Springville; brother of Bill (Marge) Murphy of Sardinia, John (Sis) Murphy of Sardinia, Pat (Ann) Murphy of Sardinia, Sue Salari of Delevan and Penny Desjarlais of Oklahoma; grandfather of 10 grandchildren and great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on June 23 at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post No. 1460 in Machias.

Raymond G. Smith, 69, died June 10, at home.
He was born May 19, 1944 in Buffalo to the late Robert and Lorraine (nee Jerge) Smith.
He was a laborer for Robinson, Long, Siller Construction Company. He was a hunter, a gardener and watched his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was the husband of Joyce (nee Miller). Father of Denise (David) Wendel of East Concord, Kathleen (Jerome) Krzemien of East Concord, Patricia (Scott) Arnold of Joliet, Ill., Renea Call of Springville and the late Raymond Jr. Grandfather of John and Ronald Wendel; Jenna, Justina, Jessica and Julia Krzemien; Brittany (Chris), Erica, Amanda Arnold, David and Ray Ann Call. Brother of Norma (Edward) Bender of Cheektowaga, Robert (Elaine) Smith of North Collins, Sandra (James) Gamel of Springville, Joseph (Susan) Smith of Springville, and Joan (Kenny) Ballard of Hamburg; also survived by several nieces, nephews, other members of his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held June 13 from St. Aloysius Church, followed by burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springville.
