Kenneth Boltz
A memorial service for Kenneth E. Boltz of Otto, who passed away Sept. 25, will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. The service will take place at the Otto Volunteer Fire Company, located at 9099 Jark Road in Otto.

Attendees are asked to bring a stuffed animal to be donated to the Bertrand Chaffee Emergency Room in Ken’s honor, or donations for the fire company.

Twila Joanne Barber
Twila Joanne Barber, 84, of the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, formerly of Randolph and Springville, passed away Friday, Oct. 5.

She was born Jan. 19, 1928 in Franklinville, the daughter of the late Charles and Doris Smith Burdic. She attended Bradford area schools and went on to pursue a career as a nursing aide for 30 years. From 1966 – 1996, she worked for Staff Builders and later cared for individuals in area private homes.

She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Salamanca and was a former member of the Steamburg Union Free Church. She was active with the Southern Tier C B Neighbors.

She is survived by her daughter Margaret “Peggy” Kenyon Jones and son Ernest Kenyon of East Randolph; companion Bill Buckhahn of Springville; stepson Ricky Barber of Salamanca and stepdaughter Penny Barber Peterson of Salamanca; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Margaret Greenhouse of Avon, N.Y., Ester Miller of Jamestown, Beatrice Kranking of Sherman, Frances Smith of Rochester, Charles Burdic of Springville, Robert Burdic of Delevan, Donna Greenwood of Bakersfield, Calif., Rita Potts of Arlington, David Burdic of Minnesota and James Burdic of Ashville.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Kenyon, second husband Frank Barber, stepdaughter Gloria Evanock and brother Raymond Burdic.

The funeral was held from the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home of Randolph on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The Rev. Larry Summers officiated. Burial was in the Steamburg Cemetery. Ruth J. (nee Belert) Chadwick died Oct. 9.

She was the wife of the late Robert Chadwick, Sr.; mother of Robert Chadwick, Diane Knorr, David Chadwick and Thomas (Kelly) Chadwick of Colden; grandmother of Chris (Nicole) Socha, Jessica (Tom) Gang, Amanda Chadwick, Rebecca Chadwick, Jillian (Timothy) Perrott, Melissa Chadwick, Robert Chadwick, Jeffrey Chadwick, Jacob Gensler, Ian Chadwick, Jocelyn Dash, and Kate Socha; “Grandma Grandma” of Ryan and Kyli Socha, Abbie Perrott, Sienna Dash, Jenavieve Gang and “Baby Gang;” sister of the late Ernest (Carol) Herwood; also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present Friday, Oct. 12 from 2 – 9 p.m. at the Quinn-Amigone Funeral Home, 192 Abbott Road in Buffalo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church of South Buffalo, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. Flowers declined.

Anna Conklin
Anna R. Conklin, 48, of Springville, died Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.

She was born Dec. 25, 1963, the daughter of (Patricia (nee Stephenson) Troidl of North Collins and the late Karl Troidl, who preceded her in death Sept. 13.

She spent time with her children as they grew up and was a member of St. Aloysius Church. She was a graduate of North Collins High School and attended Erie Community College South for two years. She was the former business office manager at Fiddlers Green Manor in Springville.

She is survived by her husband Steven Conklin; mother Patricia; son Tyler Conklin; daughter Nicole Conklin; siblings Karl Troidl of North Collins, Robert Troidl of Perrysburg and Patti Lipowicz of South Dayton and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 14 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, located at 271 East Main St. in Springville.

A funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. from St. Aloysius Church in Springville. The Rev. Lawrence Cobel will officiate. Burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springville.

Patrick Donnelly Jr.
Patrick J. Donnelly Jr. of Farmersville Station, N.Y., died Sunday, Oct. 7 at Olean General Hospital. He was 80.

He was born Jan. 14, 1932 in Spring Brook, N.Y., to the late Patrick Sr. and Mary (nee Pierce) Donnelly. He married Lorna (nee Lape) Weber Donnelly on July 10, 2004.

He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cuba. He hunted, trapped and perused flea markets and the Springville auction.

He was a retired automobile and truck mechanic of Pat’s Garage in Farmersville.

He is survived by his wife Lorna. Father of Karen Grubbs of Lexington, Ky., Sue (Bruce) Twiddy of Virginia, Brenda (Carter) Krotje of Williamsville, Laura (Mark) Meyers of North Java, Jennifer (Kevin) Copeland of Springville and the late Russell Donnelly. Stepfather of Cyndel Weber of Farmersville Station, Johnathon Weber of Farmersville Station, Sara Segola-Bennett of Decatur, Ill., Lisa (Emzy Sisco) Weber of Delevan and Michael Weber of Zephyr Hills, Fla. Friend of Shawn Morrison of Delevan. Also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Donnelly and several half-brothers.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Arcade. There are no calling hours.

Nancy McBride
Nancy B. McBride of New Paltz, N.Y., died Tuesday, Oct. 2 at St. Francis Hospital of Poughkeepsie, surrounded by her family. She was 79.

She was born Oct. 26, 1932 in Clarks Summit, Pa., to the late Alan and Felicia Ferguson Brown. She grew up in Springville and graduated from Springville-Griffith Institute High School in 1950.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Wells College in Aurora and took master’s degree courses in social work from Fordham University. She married Douglas McBride of Tonawanda on Sept. 8, 1954.

Nancy began working for the Orange County Department of Social Services in Goshen as a children’s services caseworker. She retired in 1997 as a senior case supervisor in personal care services and adult protective services. She served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross, the Family Counseling Service, the Cornwall Hospital and the Amos and Sarah Holden Home and served as president of the board of the Regional Economic Community Action Program.

Nancy lived in Washingtonville, N.Y. for many years, before she moved to Woodland Pond in New Paltz, N.Y.

She was a member of the Residents’ Council at Woodland Pond and took part in play-reading, singing groups and water aerobics. She was a birder and hiked, traveled and spent time outside.

She is survived by her husband Douglas, children and their spouses, Carrie (Jeffry Lallier) McBride of Topsham, Maine and John (Lolo Pendergrast) McBride Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren Alan McBride and Elizabeth Anne McBride of Charlotte and brother Lanny (Libby) Brown of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Raymond and Dolores Turner; Patricia Story

Raymond E. Turner, 97, of Collins Center died Oct. 5.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores M. Turner, 90, who died July 10.

The couple’s daughter, Patricia M. Story, 69, also of Collins Center, died March 28.

The Turners were predeceased by their children and Patricia’s siblings, Larry Turner and Donna Turner.

They are survived by their children and Patricia’ siblings, David (Linda) Turner, Raymond (Carolyn) Turner and Suzanne (Terry) Tubbs. Also survived by in-laws Donna Turner, Melvin Story, Winston “Wimpy” and Judy Jordan, Mary Jordan, Emily and Chuck Jordan.

Raymond and Dolores had several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside inurement service celebrating Raymond’s, Dolores’s and Patricia’s lives will be held Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. in Collins Center Cemetery in Collins Center. Memorials may be made to the donors’ charities of choice.
