John Hayes

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday (July 8) from St. Mary of the Lake Church for John J. “Jack” Hayes of South Buffalo, formerly of Hamburg, who died on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.

He is survived by his children, Carol (Peter) Schotch and Michael (Ellen) (late Louise), Thomas (Susan), John (Winklyn), Robert (Kathleen), Gerald, James, Timothy and Charles (Elaina) Hayes; sister, Rosalie (Donn) Granger; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Mutka) Hayes.

Memorials may be made to Catholic Health Continuing Care Foundation.

Arrangements were made through the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home.

Beverly Shea

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 18 at 10 a.m. from SS. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg for Beverly J. (Graham) Shea of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of North Boston, N.Y., who died on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Mary Katherine Paz and Michael F., Mark S. (Rena), Timothy W., Paul A., Richard J. (Linda) and Jeffrey (Jane Marie) Shea; brother, James (Elizabeth) Graham; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis W. Shea.

Mrs. Shea was a member of The Salvation Army Home League of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Alumni of Our Lady of Victory Infant Home in Lackawanna.

Arrangements were made through the Wurtz Funeral Home.

Marylee McShane

A Memorial Mass was held on Wednesday (July 6) from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia, S.C., for Marylee (Frantz) McShane, 72, of DeBordieu and Columbia, S.C., formerly of Hamburg, who died on Friday, July 1, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Mary Frances (Brad) Harmon and Katharin Frantz, Robert Price Jr. (Lisa), Richard Leland (Elisabeth) and John Sugden McShane; and sister, Katharin (Frantz) Cassell.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert Price McShane.

Mrs. McShane graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

She was the owner of The Frame Shop, Inc., which remains in the family and is managed by her daughter, Katy.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Carl Ott Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday (July 7) from St. Mary of the Lake Church for Carl M. “Butch” Ott Jr., 58, of Hamburg, who died on Friday, July 1, 2011.

He is survived by his children, Christina (Randy) Wisnowski, Kimberlee Ott and Jacquelyn (Jeffrey) Brylski; sister, Barbara (Tim) O’Brien; grandchildren, Maia Ott and Jack Brylski; also survived by Kayleigh Truskowski.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Dorothy (Saviola) Ott.

Mr. Ott enjoyed the outdoors, boating, hunting, fishing and time spent with his loving family.

Marian Wittmeyer

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m. from SS. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg for Marian (Collins) Wittmeyer.

She is survived by her children, JoAnn (Logel) Wittmeyer and Janice Terry; brother, Paul (Margie) Rogers, grandchildren, Jeffrey and Brian Logel, Bridget Malile and Jennifer Brooks; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Wittmeyer.

Janette Rogers

Funeral services were held on Monday (July 11) from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home for Janette S. (Wils) Rogers, 82, of Blasdell, who died on Friday, July 8, 2011.

She is survived by her sons, Alan (Julie) and Jon (Sharon) Rogers; brother, Ralph (Rose) Wils; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert G. “Buddy” Rogers; and sister, Dorothy (late Theodore) Klein.

Mrs. Rogers was employed as a cook and waitress for Richard’s Family Restaurant in Blasdell.

David Brown

Funeral services were held on Wednesday (July 13) from Southtowns Christian Center for David S. Brown of Lake View, who died on Thursday, July 7, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (DiGiore) Brown; children, Jesse, Alex, Jordan, Darbi, Brena, Jaxin and James Brown; mother, Diana (Donald) Fisher; sister, Deebe Brown; and in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Norman Brown.

Mr. Brown was the owner of Scallywags in Derby.

Arrangements were made through the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home.

Sarah MacKinnon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 14 at 9:30 a.m. from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church for Sarah E. MacKinnon, 36, of Blasdell, who died on Sunday, July 10, 2011.

She is survived by her father, James M. MacKinnon; siblings, Bryan, Brendan (Jodi) and James MacKinnon; and niece, Maia.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Ellen (Leary) MacKinnon.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Foundation.
