Florence E. Elkins (nee Gorsky), 93, of Springville, died on June 8, at the home of her daughter in Nunda.
She was born in Springville on Jan. 15, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Gorsky.
She was a cook and baker, and had worked at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, ran the lunch counter at Gentner’s Auction and was the main cook and baker at the former Travelers Restaurant in Springville for 35 years.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church in Springville.
She was the wife of the late Warren W. Elkins; mother of Elaine (late David) Kief of Nunda and the late Alan Elkins; grandmother of Carla Jakiel, Jodel Quick, Peter Elkins and Mark (Patty) Elkins; sister of Edward (Ruth Ann) Gorsky of Oregon, and the late Eleanor Gorsky, Frances Baker and Raymond Gorsky; also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 13 from St. Aloysius Church in Springville. The Rev. Lawrence Cobel officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springville.

Sarah L. Holland, 76, (nee DeGroff), of St. Petersburg, Fla. died May 14, 2014. She formerly lived in Ellicottville.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth R. Holland, who passed away May 13, 2005; daughter of the late Hollis and Katie (nee Black) DeGroff; mother of William G. Holland of Milton, Del., Bryon H. (Jude) Holland of Madeira Beach, Fla. and Julie A. Holland of Madeira Beach, Fla.; sister of Clyde A. (Ruth) DeGroff of Bancroft, Wis., Shirley L. (late Milfred) Hebdon of Springville, Eleanor “Bee” (Carl) Wagner of Cuba, Kathie G. (Allan) Fish of Great Valley and the late Eldyn DeGroff; also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; aunt of the late John Hebdon.
The family will be present at the United Church of Ellicottville, located at 53 Elizabeth St. in Ellicottville on Monday, July 21, at 9 a.m with a memorial service following at 10 a.m.
