Laura Michener

Laura L. “Sunshine” Michener, 73, nee Wick, of East Otto, died Jan. 15, at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.

She was born in Buffalo on Oct. 14, 1940, to the late Russell and Laura Wick.

She was a 1958 graduate of Frontier High School, was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Mansfield, N.Y., a gardener and had been employed at Rainbow Lake, Signore, Wal-Mart and had owned and operated Sunny’s Country Kitchen in Ashford Hollow.

She was the wife of David Michener; mother of David Michener Jr. of East Otto, Donald (Amy) Michener of Little Valley, Russell (Mary) Michener of East Otto, Lynn Kazmark of Springville and Michael Michener of East Otto; sister of Shirley (Clarence) Hodgson of Orchard Park, Linda (Bill) Kuhta of Ford City, Pa., and the late Bud, William, Bob, Bruce, Betty, Beverly and Jerry; grandmother of two and great-grandmother of two; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Jan.18 from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, located at 271 East Main St., in Springville. The Rev. Richard Godinez officiated. Burial was in the East Otto Cemetery.

Jamie Krajewski

Jamie L. Krajewski, 26, of Gowanda, died Jan.18.

She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church in Langford, K&L Lanes Friday Night League; 2006 graduate of Gowanda Central School; coached softball in the L.K. Painter Recreation Program in Collins and Gowanda and Collins teams; had attended Buffalo State College and State University of New York at Fredonia and worked at Erickson and Erickson Family Medical Practice in Orchard Park.

She was the daughter of Robert and Lorraine (nee Lucas) Krajewski; sister of Robert J. Krajewski Jr.

Memorials may be made to a Western New York Animal Shelter of one’s choice.

Arrangements were made by Schindler Funeral Home.

Carole Nicoloff


Carole Nicoloff

Carole F. Nicoloff, nee Hoch, of Elma, N.Y., formerly of Springville, died Jan. 20.

She was the daughter of Lois Hoch; wife of George Nicoloff; mother of Tonya (Anthony) Renkas and Erika (Ryan) VanDette; grandmother of Nicholas, Emily, Noah, Gabriel and Lukas; sister of Linda Barnes, Susan Snyder, Bonnie Hoch, Sharon Zanelotti, Charles Hoch, Dianne Burgio, Andrew Hoch, Stephen Hoch, Janice Button and the late Rebecca Godert and Sandra Dunn; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from St. John the Baptist Church, 2021 Sandridge Road, Alden, N.Y., on Jan. 25. Arrangements were made by the Kenneth Howe Funeral Home, located at 64 Maple St. in East Aurora, N.Y.
