Russ Williams, 68, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Springville, died June 24.
He was born in Lackawanna on June 13, 1946 to the late Russel and Anne Williams.
He was raised in Springville and graduated from Griffith Institute High School. He attended Alfred State College, finished with a business degree and received a degree as sous chef from Buffalo Culinary School.
He worked in the food service industry as a cook, chef and general manager for many years. He worked at Kissing Bridge Ski Resort, Howard Johnsonís Co. and Lenior Woods Retirement Community. He also worked in retail sales, beginning as a paper boy at age 12, Sattlerís Department Store in Buffalo, Jacob Brothers Menís Clothing and K-Mart Corporation.
He owned and operated R&R Collectibles Hobby, Cards and Trains store for 18 1/2 years and traveled the United States, attending collectibles shows.
He was the husband of Joan (nee Blain) Williams; stepfather of Marsha Anne (Mark) Sultrop; grandfather of Ely and Maris of Centralia, Mo.; brother of Carol Anne (Gerald) Wahlenmayer of Hamburg and Robert Allan (Betty) Williams of Shreveport, La.
A celebration of life was held July 1 at the Elks Lodge in Columbia.
