Robert Ballard

Robert K. Ballard, 91, of Fruitland Park, Fla., died April 10. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army and a retired postal worker, as well as a longtime active member of the Springville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Jo Curry Ballard, children Michael (Margaret) Ballard, Marjorie (Robert) Hazen, Mark (Kate) Ballard and Marcia (Mark Reese) Ballard, stepchildren Dianne (the late Norman) Conrad, Lisa (Donald) Brown, Pamela (Daniel) Jax, Todd (Shelia) Curry, Martin Curry and Jay Quick, 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty.

Memorial services will be held on April 26, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Springville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice. Online condolences may be left at www.beyersfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements were made by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, located in Leesburg, Fla.

Joan Darszewski

Joan V. Darszewski, 82, of Sandusky, Ohio, formerly of Springville, died March 27, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Lackawanna, to the late Harold and Matilda (nee Perrin) Bragg. In 1951, she graduated from Springville-Griffith Institute High School.

She crocheted, made baby blankets and afghans, read and did crafts of all kinds.

She had been a 4-H leader and Girl Scout advisor.

She was the wife of the late Michael Darszewski; mother of Virginia Darszewski and Marjorie Darszewski, both of Sandusky, and Susan (Dan) Morell, of Clyde, Ohio; grandmother of Audra, Anne, Jordan and Jared Morell; sister of Sharon Hawley of Arcade and the late Dean Bragg, Harold Bragg and Phyllis Reinard; sister-in-law of Carol Bragg, the late Arlene Bragg, Loretta Ciszak, David Hawley, Ed Reinhard, Stanley Darszewski and the late Pearl Darszewski, Raymond Darszewski and Elmer Ciszak.

A funeral service was held March 31, from the Norwalk Baptist Church in Norwalk, Ohio. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville.

Deborah Ruth

Deborah (nee Marth) Ruth, 52, of Springville, died April 13.

She was the wife of the late Kevin Ruth Sr.; mother of Kevin (Jennifer) Ruth Jr., Jennifer Ruth, Timothy (Sarah) Ruth, Victoria (Benjamin Dunning) Ruth and Cody Ruth; grandmother of Heidi, Dylan, Madison, Jessica, Mckayla, Amber, Mckenzie, Emily, Jayla, Aiden and Zach; sister of Karen, Kathy and David.

There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements were made by the Wentland Funeral Home of North Collins.
