Irene Hochreiter
Irene Hochreiter, (nee Peschan), 85, of Rochester, N.Y., died Jan. 21, in Rochester.

She was born on April 16, 1928.

She was the wife of William Hochreiter; mother of Amy Hochreiter. Bill (Terri) Hochreiter, Beth (Brad Eisenhart) Hochreiter, Eric Hochreiter and Lori (Roy) Bow; grandmother of Sara, Kyle, Emily, Jeremy, Ryan, Naomi, Gloriana and Stephen; sister of Rose Marie Thomas and the late Ilse Weismantel; sister-in-law of William Weismantel of Springville; aunt of Gerald Weismantel, Susan (Jeffrey) Wright, Mary Denise Weismantel and John Weismantel.

A funeral service was held Jan. 25 from Holy Ghost Church in Chili, N.Y. The Rev. James Hewes officiated. Burial was in Holy Ghost Cemetery, located in Chili.

William Scharf
William A. Scharf, 55, of Springville, died Jan. 27, in Alden, N.Y.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1958, to the late Donald and Earline (nee Edington) Scharf.

He was a graduate of West Valley Central School and was a self-employed contractor. He hunted, fished and trapped. He was a member of the Ellicottville and Lime Lake sportsmens clubs and the Sons of the American Legion in West Valley.

He was the brother of Sheila (late Bruce) Ehman of Ellicottville, Mary (Dennis) Anderson of East Otto and Donald Jr. (Sandra) Scharf of Ellicottville; former husband of Sharon (nee Smith) Scharf of West Valley; also survived by seven nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call Feb. 1, from 2-3 p.m., at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, located at 271 East Main St. in Springville, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Timothy Chase will officiate.

Richard Wilson
Richard M. Wilson, 59, of Buffalo, died Jan. 22, in Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born in Buffalo on June 21, 1944, to Joan (nee Crawford) Wilson Sarver and the late Richard Wilson.

He was a graduate of Hamburg Central School, played board games, watched television and movies and, in his younger days, hunted and fished.

He was the son of Joan Sarver, of Springville; brother of Lucinda “Cindy” Pagano of Silver Creek, N.Y., Deborah Penfold of Springville, Daniel (Vickie) Wilson of Florida and the late Mark Wilson; also survived by five nieces, one nephew and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Feb. 1 at 11 a.m., from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, located at 271 East Main St. in Springville. The Rev. Mike Leamon will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, located in the town of Concord.
