Elsie M. Baker (nee Hill), 90, of Collins, died Aug. 23 in Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
She was born in Buffalo in 1922, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee Koskinen) Hill.
She was a graduate of Bennett High School in Buffalo and had worked at Fisher-Price in Holland. She knitted, traveled and camped.
She was the wife of the late Reuben Baker; mother of Susan (James) Davie of Collins, Diane (Merle) Harvey of Gowanda, Katherine (Gary Ebel) Baker of Leon and the late James Baker; sister of the late Frank Hill.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Collins Center Fire Department or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Robert KuhlRobert Kuhl
Robert K. Kuhl, 93, of East Concord, died Aug. 23 in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo.
He was born in East Concord in 1919, the son of the late Frank and Amelia (nee Knaisch) Kuhl.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 – 45 and was in the first unit stationed on the Aleutian Islands. In May, he was sponsored to visit Washington, D.C. on the Hero Flight. He was a member of the Springville V.F.W.
Some of his activities included cutting wood, gardening, ice fishing and taking his dog for rides. He had been a union carpenter with Union Concrete in West Seneca.
He was the husband of the late Helen (nee Maciewjewski) Kuhl; father of Jerry Kuhl of East Concord; brother of Marion Brown of Springville and the late Raymond and Frances Kuhl; uncle of Don (Lisa) Brown and Linda (Fred) Reehling; great-uncle of Brian (Lauri) Brown, Christopher (Valerie) Brown, Colleen (David) Roy, Sarah (Joe) Brown and Kevin Reehling; also survived by 10 great-great nieces and nephews.

Marie McLean (nee Pierce), 90, of Rome, N.Y., formerly of Springville, passed away Aug. 23.
She was born June 5, 1922 in Springville, the daughter of Ellsworth and Thelma Crosby Pierce.
Marie was the wife of the late Edgar McLean; mother of Diane (Bob) Cole of Swanton, Ohio, William McLean of East Concord and Dennis (Donna) McLean of Rome; grandmother of Fred Reimann of Swanton, Ohio, Dale McLean of West Branch, N.Y. and Daniel and Rochelle McLean of Westernville, N.Y.; two great grandsons, Austin and Dakota McLean of Westernville, N.Y.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Springville.

Jeanette L. (nee Schweickert) Quick of Eden, formerly of Springville, died Aug. 20.
Mother of Constance (Donald) Maue, Sharon (Kerry) Fitzgerald, Marcy (John) Hilliard and Dawn Quick; grandmother of Donald (Jennifer), Michael, Brian (Tina) Maue, Kara (Peter) Burakowski, Laura Maue and Kevin Fitzgerald; survived by 11 great-grandchildren; sister of Agnes (late Arthur) Cobo, Richard (late Grace) Schweickert, Barbara (Francis) Burnham and the late Dorothy (Paul) Willover and Henry (Donna) Schweickert; also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Roman Church in Springville on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Boston Emergency Squad. Arrangements were made by Erie County Cremation Service.
Theodore ZimmerTheodore Zimmer
Theodore J. Zimmer 58, of Oregon, Ill., formerly of Springville, passed away Aug. 19 after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 28, 1954, the son of Donald Zimmer and the late Virginia (nee Wylie) Agen.
He is survived by his wife Janice and three children, James, Rebekah and Skyela, siblings Connie (Gerald) Ellis, Sharon Zimmer, Dale (Joseph) Ingaham, Jan Zimmer, Linda (Deane) Bragg and Stephanie (Bart) Shafer. Also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
