Dailey, Helen D. (nee Canazzi), 84, of Tonawanda, passed away Friday, Feb. 10.
Beloved wife of Benjamin F. Dailey; devoted mother of Barbara (Michael) Dash and the late Kevin Dailey; dear mother-in-law of Mary Kay Dailey-Allen; loving daughter of the late Henry and Mary (nee Marinelli) Canazzi; cherished grandmother of Brian (Alexis) Dailey, Meghan, Adam Dash and Stephanie (Zachary) Hatfield; adored great grandmother of Tyler, Chase, Kadence, Silas and Bryce.
Helen was employed as a head cashier at Twin Fair and later Gold Circle stores retiring in the mid 1980s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen's name to Hospice Buffalo, Inc., 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga 14227 or Vangard Christian Church, 75 17th Avenue, North Tonawanda 14120.
Amato, Patricia (nee Morris), 55, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 11.
Born in Topeka, Kansas, she had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life, and had been employed at the accounting firm of James Amato & Company. She was a member of St. Christopher R.C. Church and the Bereavement Group at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey J. Amato; two daughters, Rachel (Josh) Stiller of North Boston, New York, and Elizabeth (Andrew Asbach) Amato of North Tonawanda; her parents, Robert and Joyce (nee Johnson) Morris of North Tonawanda; and three brothers, Paul F. Morris of Denver, Colorado, Michael (Larisa) Morris also of Denver, and Steven (Jackie) Morris of Lakeview, New York. She was the aunt of Samantha Anne Morris, Caroline Shaul, and Robert and Laura Phillips.
If desired, memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4245 Union Road, Suite 108, Cheektowaga, NY 14225, are preferred by the family.
Aiello, Angela (nee Caputy), 87, of North Tonawanda, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Niagara Hospice House.
She was born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Roseann (nee Naples) Caputy. She had been employed at Buffalo Councilman Tauriello’s office and then worked as a secretary at Bell Aircraft before her marriage, and later in life she worked at American Greeting Cards in Florida for 10 years. Angela was one of the original founders of St. Albert the Great Church, where she taught religious education for 15 years, and is now a member of O.L.C. Church in North Tonawanda. She was the mother of the late Maria Mayer who died in 1997, grandmother of the late Marchello Aiello who died in 2006, and sister of the late Marie (Victor) Finaldi, Sibby (Connie) Caputy and Peter (Charolet) Caputy.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Aiello; her daughter, Rosann (Richard) Schweickhard of North Tonawanda; two sons, Joseph (Karen) Aiello and Lawrence Aiello, both of North Tonawanda; and eight grandchildren, Joseph (Robin) Aiello, Roxanne (Ken) Cochran, Michael (Abby) Mayer, Richard (Elise) Schweickhard, Kim (Gabe) Mayer, Rachael (Shawn) Amrhein, Phillip Aiello, and Amanda Aiello-Vacanti. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Baker, Mildred (nee Gross). 85, of the Town of Tonawanda, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late James and Matilda (nee Garlapo) Gross and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and was one of the first woman Deacons at the Church. Millie taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir. She worked as a waitress at many local restaurants, including Mindy’s Wine Cellar and Pane’s Restaurant, before retiring. She was the sister of the late Peter, Robert, George, Edward, and Ann Gross, and Julia Frazer.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Baker, Jr.; her daughter, Karen R. Kenney; two grandsons, Sean (Carrie) Kenney, Jonathan (Jennifer) Kenney; a sister, Dorothy Gross; and a brother, Richard (Linda) Gross. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
