BOSTON — New York state police in Boston arrested Nicholas Moelbert, 28, of Buffalo, on Oct. 27, on an arrest warrant from New York state parole. Moelbert was on parole for a grand larceny and identity theft conviction in March 2011.
Moelbert was being investigated by troopers for possessing forged checks and numerous other crimes. As Moelbert was meeting with another person, troopers attempted to approach him and he ran. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody. Moelbert was found in possession of hypodermic needles and heroin bags.
Moelbert was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held on the parole warrant. Further charges are pending.
