Police and Fire reports for the Journal week of June 7

Police Reports:

The Erie County Sheriff’s office responded to several calls between May 24-31 in the towns of Boston, Colden, Concord and Sardinia and the village of Springville. Following are some of the incidents:

Boston

– May 29, Patrol arrested Amy Moritz, 35, of North Collins on an outstanding warrant. She was held at the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment. The arrest took place on Route 219.

– Patrol investigated one property damage automobile accident in the town of Boston between May 24-31.

Colden


– Patrol investigated two property damage automobile accidents in the town of Colden between May 24-31.

Concord

– May 30, Patrol arrested Paul Kreutzer, 54, of Springville, for driving while intoxicated following a traffic accident on Cattaraugus Street. He was released on appearance tickets to appear in court at a later date.

– May 30, Patrol arrested Dlyn Tingue, 41, of Machias, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, following a traffic stop on Route 219. She was held at ECHC pending arraignment.

– Patrol investigated seven property damage automobile accidents in the town of Concord between May 24-31.

Sardinia

– Patrol investigated four property damage automobile accidents in the town of Sardinia between May 24-31.

Springville

– May 24, Patrol arrested Denise Schauer, 42, of Gowanda, for DWI and other related charges following a traffic stop on West Main Street. She submitted to a breath test with the result being .13 percent blood alcohol content. She was released on appearance tickets to appear in Springville Court at a later date.

– May 28, Patrol arrested Molly Neamon, 33, of Arcade, for petit larceny on South Cascade Drive. She was held at the ECHC on bail, pending arraignment.

– May 31, Patrol arrested Jonah Deveans, 20, of Clarence, on an outstanding warrant. He was turned over to the West Seneca Police Department. The arrest took place on Factory Street.

Tingue charged with narcotics possession

An early morning traffic stop on May 30 resulted in the arrest of a Machias woman for narcotics possession on Route 219 in the town of Concord.

Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Ballantyne stopped a vehicle on Route 219 near Genesee Road in the town of Concord for a traffic violation.

Upon further interview and investigation, the passenger, Dlyn G. Tingue, 41, of Machias was found to be in possession of about a dozen Methadone pills wrapped in plastic for which she had no prescription.

Tingue was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance fourth degree, a class C felony, and was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held for arraignment in the town of Concord Court.

The driver was released at the scene with a traffic ticket.

Ashford man charged with illegal possession of a weapon

Lee R. Holdsworth, 30, of Ashford, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree by New York State Troopers, based in Machias. The arrest was made on June 3.

Pursuant to an investigation, Holdsworth was found to be in possession of a shotgun while being a convicted felon. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Ashford Court on June 12.

Springville man charged with DWI

A Springville resident was charged with driving while intoxicated, and other charges, after a one-car personal injury crash in Concord on May 30.

While on patrol in Concord at approximately 9:30 p.m.,, Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Szkatulski responded to the call of a one car crash on Cattaraugus Street in Concord. After investigating the crash, the deputy arrested the driver, Paul J. Kreutzer, 54, and charged him with DWI and failure to maintain the road.

Kreutzer was transported by ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville with non-life threatening injuries. A blood sample was secured to determine his blood alcohol content with lab results pending. He was processed and released at the hospital on appearance tickets for Concord Court.

Machias man charged with DWI

Richard I. Fancher, 37, of Machias was arrested for driving while intoxicated on May 25. Fancher was stopped by New York State Police, based in Machias, for a brake light infraction on Route 16 in Delevan after drawing the attention of patrols by squealing his tires on Cobb Avenue.

He was processed and issued traffic tickets to appear in the town of Yorkshire Court on June 5, and was released to a third party.

Crosta arrested on many charges

Jeffrey M. Crosta, 45, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and multiple other vehicle and traffic offenses.

Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Rogers responded to a complaint of a car driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the Route 219 expressway on June 1.

Rogers found the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction near the Zimmerman Road overpass in Boston. After conducting his investigation, Rogers arrested Crosta for the stated charges. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .21 percent. He was processed at the Sheriffs Office in North Collins station where he was released on appearance tickets to a sober third party.

– May 26, 11 a.m., East Concord firefighters responded to a first aid call on Foote Road at Sprague Brook Park.

– May 26, 1:26 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid call on Savage Road.

– May 26, 4:14 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on Mill Street.

– May 26, 4:20 p.m., East Concord firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at Route 240 and Genesee Road.

– May 27, 3:48 a.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on Mill Street. Transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.

– May 27, 9:19 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on Woodward Avenue. Transported to BCH.

– May 29, 9:18 a.m., Springville, East Concord and Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a report of a fire on North Buffalo Street. Fire was out on arrival.

– May 29, 1:17 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to secure the landing zone for Mercy Flight WNY at BCH.

– May 29, 3:32 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on Genesee Road. Transported to BCH.

– May 30, 2:12 a.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on West Main Street. Transported to BCH.

– May 20, 6:42 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid call on Deerfield Drive. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.

– May 30, 9:32 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on Cattaraugus Street. Transported to BCH.

– May 31, 10 a.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on East Main Street. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to BCH.

– May 31, 1:48 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a Mercy Flight WNY assist at BCH.

– May 31, 6:56 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a Mercy Flight WNY assist at BCH.

– Patrol investigated two property damage automobile accidents in the village of Springville between May 24-31.
