Machias woman charged with DWI

MACHIAS — New York State Police based at the Machias barracks, received a call on Feb. 25, from a woman who stated she had observed another woman apparently under the influence of an unknown substance get into a vehicle and drive away.
The trooper receiving the call intercepted the suspect vehicle and stopped it for a traffic violation. The operator, Patricia McConnell, 27, of Machias, was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
During processing she was found to have a blood alcohol content of .21 percent, leading to a charge of aggravated DWI with.18 percent BAC or higher.
McConnell is to face the charges in the town of Machias Court at a later date.
