Police and fire reports from the Oct. 6 Springville Journal

Police Blotter
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Springville Police Department responded to several calls that occurred between Sept. 8 and 29. Following is a sampling of incidents in Boston, Colden, Concord, Sardinia and Springville:

Boston
– Sept. 10, Patrol responded to a property damage automobile accident on Route 219. A report was filed.
– Sept. 16, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Route 219.
– Sept. 22, Patrol arrested Darby Monahan, 33, of Salamanca, for criminal possession of a controlled substance. The subject was released to appear in court, at a later date.
– Sept. 27, Patrol investigated a personal injury automobile accident on Boston State Road.

Colden
– Sept. 13, Patrol investigated a personal injury automobile accident on State Road. One victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Rural Metro Ambulance.
– Sept. 17, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Hayes Hollow Road.
– Sept. 22, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Heath Road.

Concord
– Sept. 9, Patrol assisted in removing unwanted, intoxicated guests from a business on Genesee Road.
– Sept. 16, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Sharp Street.
– Sept. 17, Patrol arrested Jason Brown, 36, of Concord, on an outstanding warrant by the East Aurora Police Department. Brown was turned over to the East Aurora Police Department. The arrest took place on Morse Road.
– Sept. 18, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Route 219.
– Sept. 24, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Kaiser Road.
– Sept. 25, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Trevett Road.
– Sept. 28, Patrol arrested Elaine Monnin, 32, of Colden, for driving while intoxicated and other related charges, on Sharp Street. She submitted to a breath test, with the result’s being .14 percent blood alcohol content. She was released to appear in court, at a later date.

Sardinia
– Sept. 9, Patrol arrested Rene Sliwa, 25, on an outstanding warrant. She was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, where she was held, pending her arraignment. The arrest took place on Creek Road.
– Sept. 10, Patrol investigated a report of damaged property on Olean Road.
– Sept. 25, Patrol again arrested Rene Sliwa, 25, of Sardinia on an outstanding warrant. She was committed to the Erie County Holding Center. The arrest took place on Savage Road.

Springville
– Sept. 19, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on Route 219.
– Sept. 26, Patrol investigated a property damage automobile accident on East Main Street.
– Sept. 26, Patrol arrested Rachel York, 32, and Melissa Perkins, 41, both of Delevan, for petit larceny, after the two were caught shoplifting on South Cascade Drive. Both subjects were released on appearance tickets, to appear in court at a later date.

Springville Police Department

– Sept. 10, Patrol arrested Mariah Warner, 20, of Buffalo, on an outstanding warrant. She was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, pending her arraignment. The arrest took place on West Main Street.
– Sept. 10, Patrol assisted with a funeral escort through the village.
– Sept. 10, Patrol responded to a property damage automobile accident on Route 219. A report was filed.
– Sept. 11, The department’s Commercial Truck Enforcement Unit and the New York State Department of Transportation performed truck inspections on North Cascade Drive.
– Sept. 11, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies in opening a locked car that had a newborn baby located inside.
– Sept. 15, Patrol investigated an animal complaint on West Main Street.
– Sept. 15, The department’s K-9 Unit responded to Brown and Division streets for a traffic stop by Erie County Sheriff’s deputies. The subject fled, on foot, into the woods.
– Sept. 17, Patrol responded to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for a patient who was out of control.
– Sept.18, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a larceny at BCH.
– Sept. 19, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies in locating a missing person.
– Sept. 19, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a domestic call.
– Sept. 20, The department’s Commercial Truck Enforcement Unit and the New York State Department of Transportation performed truck inspections on North Cascade Drive.
– Sept. 18, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a landlord versus tenant dispute on West Main Street.
– Sept. 18, Patrol assisted with the return of recovered property that was found, following a larceny that took place on Maple Avenue.
– Sept. 21, Patrol arrested Edward Ruiz of Buffalo while he was in Springville Court on a warrant from the town of Persia for harassment second.
– Sept. 21, Patrol arrested Heather Gearman of Gowanda on a petit larceny warrant from the village of Springville Court.
– Sept. 21, Patrol assisted with a custody exchange on Ohio Street.
– Sept. 21, Patrol investigated a customer dispute on West Main Street.
– Sept. 22, The department’s K-9 unit was requested by the New York State Police for tracking a subject who had fled from a traffic stop on Route 5 in the town of Brant.
– Sept. 22, Patrol was requested by BCH to handle a combatant, intoxicated male with a head injury.
– Sept. 22, Patrol assisted New York State Police with responding to a large group of individuals’ setting off fireworks at Moore and Genesee roads.
– Sept. 22, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a reportedly suspicious vehicle and an unauthorized person, located inside a building on White Street.
– Sept. 22, Patrol was requested to check Route 219 from Route 39 to the Cattaraugus County line for a vehicle headed north on the southbound lane.
– Sept. 23, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a possible child abuse case.
– Sept. 27, Patrol investigated a report of larceny on North Buffalo Street.
– Sept. 27, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a larceny on East Main Street.
– Sept. 27, Patrol investigated a neighbor dispute on East Main Street.
– Sept. 28, Patrol assisted with the homecoming parade and community policing, during a football game.
– Sept. 29, Patrol assisted a citizen who was locked out of his or her vehicle on North Buffalo Street.
– Sept. 28, Patrol investigated a report of a disturbance in the area of Church and Smith streets.
– Sept. 28, Patrol investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Elm Street.
– Sept. 28, Patrol assisted Erie County Sheriff’s deputies with a mental health and first aid call on Spring Street.
– Sept. 29, Patrol investigated a report of a fight at the corner of Cochran Avenue and West Main street.
– Sept. 29, Patrol performed community policing during the Oktoberfest at Springville Volunteer Fireman’s Park.

Fire Report
– Sept. 24, 3:10 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on Franklin Street. Transported to Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo with a Rural Metro Ambulance medic on board.
– Sept. 24, 5:12 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on North Street. Transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
– Sept. 25, 12:05 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid call on Genesee Road. Transported to BCH.
– Sept. 27, 11:18 a.m., Mortons Corners firefighters responded to a first aid call on Trevett Road. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to BCH.
– Sept. 18, 12:55 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid call on Olean Road. Transported to BCH.
– Sept. 29, 6:57 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid call on Springville-Griffith Institute’s Pop Warner Field on North Buffalo Street. Transported to BCH.
