Phillips charged as a parole absconder

MACHIAS — State police from the Machias barracks assisted New York State Parole with arresting a parole absconder. Charles Phillips, 23, of Delevan was located and arrested for his parole violation on Oct. 10.
During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of an illegal weapon. Phillips was then arrested for criminal possession of a weapon fourth, in addition to absconding on parole. He was arraigned in the town of Yorkshire Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.
