Delevan man charged with possession of drugs

YORKSHIRE — New York StateTrooper Paul Landwehr was monitoring traffic at the intersection of routes 16 and 39 in the town of Yorkshire, on Aug. 12. He observed a male driver stopped at the stoplight, lighting and smoking marijuana in a pipe, while waiting for the light to change.

Landwehr stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Andrew Patton, 24, of Delevan. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, associated paraphanelia and pills. Patton was arrested for criminal possession of controlled substance seventh, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of marijuana fifth (public view) and a public health law violation (non-original container). Patton was issued appearance tickets and is to answer the charges in the town of Yorkshire Court, at a later date.
