Two injured in plow-car accident in North Collins

NORTH COLLINS — Erie County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a motor vehicle accident at Genesee and New Oregon roads in the town of North Collins on Feb. 28.

A 1990 Chevrolet Caprice, operated by Bernard Mazurczak, 57, of Blasdell, was traveling south on New Oregon Road when he failed to yield the right-of-way to a westbound 2006 Ford plow truck at the intersection of Genesee Road.

The plow truck and car collided in the intersection. Mazurczak was taken to the Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight WNY for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the trick, Jason Smith, 40, of West Valley, was transported by ambulance to ECMC, for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit and charges may be pending.
