False identification foiled in Collins

COLLINS _ New York state troopers arrested Carol Ross, 49, of Spencer, Tenn. on Aug. 14. She was charged with false impersonation and unlawful possession of marijuana after she was stopped for speeding, on Route 62.

Ross told the trooper that she was the 72-year-old owner of the car, but could not provide any form of valid identification. She also could not match her age with her date of birth, which prompted the trooper to question a passenger in the car, who gave her real name.

A computer check revealed that her driving privileges in had been revoked. While taking her into custody, troopers found her in possession of 8 1/2 grams of marijuana. She was processed at the state police Collins barracks, arraigned in Collins Town Court and sent to the Erie County Holding Center, on $1,000 cash bail.
