Machias man arrested for killing a kitten

MACHIAS — New York state troopers from the Machias barracks responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the town of Yorkshire on Aug. 25 at 4 a.m. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Casey R. Gilcrease, 21, of Arcade, had intentionally picked up a kitten and thrown it against the ground, during a dispute, resulting in the kitten’s death.
Gilcrease had left the residence, but was quickly located and arrested. The subject was charged with violating Ag and Markets Law section 353. He willface the charge in the town of Yorkshire Court.
