Seeking hit-run driver

YORKSHIRE — New York state troopers responded to a hit and run injury accident at Walgreens on Route 39 in Yorkshire on Dec., 10 at approximately 3 p.m.

The investigation revealed that Melissa Snyder of Java, N.Y., had been loading her baby and young son into her vehicle when she was struck by a truck and pinned against the door of her vehicle.

The pickup truck then backed up and fled the scene. The truck is described as being a ‘90s-style teal green Ford F-150 or similar regular cab pick-up. It is unknown if there is any damage to the truck.

The driver was male, and a blond female passenger yelled out that they had slid on snow and would park nearby. The pick-up fled the scene instead. Snyder was taken by ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital. State Police request anyone with information to call Machias barracks at 353-8800 and refer to case No. 5413835.
