New York State Troopers received a report of a road rage incident on Route 242, in the town of Machias, on Aug. 1.
The complainant reported being cut off by another motorist, causing him to stop abruptly. A male operator then exited the vehicle, approached the complainant’s vehicle and threatened and punched the complainant.
As a result of the ensuing investigation, Gene Tingue of Delevan was arrested for menacing third, harassment second and disorderly conduct. While being processed at the Machias barracks, Tingue was also charged with one count of criminal mischief fourth, for damage he caused to property in the State Police Barracks. The subject was arraigned in the town of Machias Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $2,000 bail.
