Accident reports are now online

BUFFALO — Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard has announced that accident reports are now available online at www.crashdocs.org, or through the Erie County Sheriff’s Office website at www2.erie.gov/sheriff. There is a fee for each report, which includes a processing fee for Erie County and one for the website.

Having the reports available online helps cut down on travel time to downtown Buffalo, and the cost of postage, and it is available 24/7, according to Howard.

To avoid the website processing fee, residents may mail a request to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office at Traffic Bureau, 10 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, N.Y. 14202, including a check for Erie County’s portion of the fee and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Processing time is two to three weeks. Hand-delivered requests must be taken to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, 10 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
