Sardinia man charged after crash

SARDINIA — A town of Sardinia resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated, after a three-vehicle accident occurred, on Genesee Road in the town of Sardinia at 5 p.m. on May 3.
A motorcycle, operated by Thomas Jett, 43, was traveling west on Genesee Road, when it struck the back of a pickup truck. The truck was operated by Junior Meyers, 86, also of Sardinia.
The motorcycle then entered the east-bound lane and came in contact with a pickup truck’s being driven by Christopher Roche, 49, of Holland. Jett was ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway. He was transported to the Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight WNY, with multiple injuries, and arrested for driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation. Jett refused to submit to a test to determine his blood alcohol content.
Jett’s driver’s license has been revoked, for more than 18 years, due to a conviction of DWI on April 10, 1995, in the town of Concord. His license was also suspended four times, for other offenses.
The investigation is ongoing, with further charges’ pending.
