Speaker series moves to Fridays

SPRINGVILLE — The Springville Concord Elder Network Coordinator, speaker series has changed to select Fridays, beginning Sept. 6. Coordinator Ginny Krebs explained that this was done as a result of audience feedback on parking issues.

“The town hall is not as busy on a Friday, as other days of the week, so hopefully it will be easier for people. The time and location remain the same: 1 – 2 p.m. at the Concord Town Hall auditorium, located at 86 Franklin St., Springville,” said Krebs.

Program Chair Jackie Shaw said that this will be “a very exciting series, with diverse subjects. From injured foxes to historic grain elevators, to Buffalo’s own ‘Wild Bill Donovan,’ this is going to be our best series yet!”

The SCENe 2013 Fall Fridays’ Speaker Series kicks off on Friday Sept. 6, with Wildlife Rehabilitator Elise Able.

Shaw also announced that Friday, Sept. 13, will feature former Buffalo Sabre and local business owner, Rob Ray. That program will feature highlights of his hockey experiences, as a player and on-air commentator. Ray invited the audience to bring their questions.

The SCENe Speaker Series is free and open to the public. SCENe is supported by Healthy Community Alliance Inc.; Health Foundation for Western and Central New York; The Town of Concord; Erie County Senior Services; Love INC; private donations; community partners and volunteers.
