SPRINGVILLE — Volunteers from the Mentholatum Corporation and from ITT company, both located in Orchard Park, joined local workers on Aug. 21 for the United Way Day of Caring, to help in cleaning up the Trading Post, located on Franklin Street in Springville.
Interim Overseeing Coordinator Cathy Cappara of Perrysburg, formerly of Springville, said volunteers were doing interior cleaning, weeding, painting, cleaning the kitchen and generally fixing the entire building.

They also supported the Giving Tree, which provides backpacks, clothing, shoes and supplies, for 57 children, through the Evans Agency.
Julie’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, Main Street Pizza, Tim and Bonnie’s Pizza and the Lancaster Tim Hortons provided food for the 34 volunteers. Some local chefs made salads and sides.
