Two gold sponsors help bring downtown Springville clock closer to reality

Joel Maul and Pete Dygert
SPRINGVILLE — The Springville Community Clock Committee recently announced plans to erect a nearly 20-foot tall, Seth Thomas-inspired, four-faced clock in the pocket park at the corner of Main and Mechanic streets in Springville.

The clock project recently added the first two gold sponsors, Pete and Janet Dygert and Grover and Elizabeth Riefler.

Grover Riefler and Dave Batterson
Peter Dygert presented his sponsorship donation to clock committee member Joel Maul. Grover Riefler made his donation to Concord Historical Society President Dave Batterson.

The village clock fund has been established, to erect this timepiece in Springville.

Each gold sponsor received a replica of the planned clock, as well as his or her name cast on a bronze plaque. These plates will be attached to the clock’s base.

All bronze, silver, gold and corporate sponsors will have their names placed inside a time capsule within the clock pedestal.

The Concord Historical Society and the village of Springville have announced plans to have the clock in place by Dec. 1.
