WEST VALLEY — The bowling clubs from West Valley Central School were back in action on Jan. 26 and the boys and girls teams experienced opposite fates, when it came to their final scores.
The boys came out against Ellicottville, taking all 4 points and winning three games, to gain the extra point, for the high pin total.
West Valley’s top scorer was Cole Stanbro, who bowled a 192, 202 and 197, for a 591 total. Behind him was Dylan Westfall, who had totals of 158 and 193, twice. His cumulative amount at the end of the match was 544.
The boys were scheduled to play in the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Athletic Association roll-offs at the Jamestown Bowling Company, on Jan. 30. By winning one of the four available points in the match, the boys would qualify for sectional play, the following Saturday.
On Jan. 26, the girls came out with a goose egg, losing all 4 points to Ellicottville.
Aamina Haykal topped her teammates, with a single-game high of 174 and a series total of 437.
The girls also participated in the roll-offs on Jan. 29. They were also scheduled to meet up with Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Feb. 2. That Saturday was also to be held as senior recognition day, for both bowling teams.
