Springville swimmers dive in deep for Carly’s Club

BUFFALO — On Aug. 11, seven Springville swimmers participated in the annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer research – Carly’s Crossing. The event is an open-water swim in Lake Erie at Gallagher Beach. More than 300 swimmers raised in excess of $150,000, that day alone.

Mitchell Bunic, Donald Piatek and Nolan West participated in the competitive, timed one-mile swim. Bunic, Elliott Tessmer and Alex Zifra participated in a non-competitive one-mile swim and Victoria Piatek and Peggy Tessmer participated in the 600-yard swim. This group of seven swimmers raised more than $2,000, for the cause.

Several family members and spectators were there to cheer on the swimmers.
