SPRINGVILLE — The Springville-Griffith Institute Track Team participated in team championships on Feb. 15.
For the girls, ninth-grader Alix Dubel set a personal record of 11.89 fully automatic time in 55 hurdles. Eleventh-grader Sarah Marren had a season best in the 55-meter day of 8.40 and made the semi-finals with that time.
Lizzy Miranda, an eighth-grader, had a personal best in the 300 of 50.05. Abby Roy, a 10th-grader, had a personal best triple jump and had a sixth place finish with 29 feet, 9.5 inches. Elle Russell, an eighth-grader, took fourth place in 1,500 with a 5:28.
Eleventh-grader Jess Weide had a season-best and a new school record, breaking her own record, in shot put, with33 feet, 8.5 inches and took third place.
Jess Wojtkiwiak, a senior, took first place and had a season-best time in the 3,000 of 11:03.11. Wojtkiwiak, Ashley Broeneman, Russell and McKenzie Maloy took fourth place in the 4-by-800 with 11:14.92.
The 4-by-400 team of Wojtkiwiak, Kalei Brautlacht, Maloy and Joelle Adamczyk took third place with 4:43.5. In the boys division, Matt Adams, a senior, took fifty place in the shot put with 4-feet, 3-inches.
Jordan Dubay, a 10th grader, had a personal best in the 300-meter, with 44.5. Jake Moroge, a junior, had a personal best, sectional qualifying and semi-finals-qualifying time in the 550meter dash, of 7,12 FAT. Nick Lavanture, a sophomore, took third place in the high jump of 5-feet, 8-inches.
