Buffalo State men’s basketball ends season with loss

SPRINGVILLE — During a Buffalo State versus Geneseo men’s basketball game, Geneseo amassed a 30-point halftime lead and cruised to an 83 – 67 win against Buffalo State, during the season finale held Feb. 16.
Springville-Griffith Institute graduate Seth Runge netted 12 points, during the loss.
The Geneseo Knights led 49 – 19, at the half, as the Bengals shot 25 percent from the field. Geneseo shot 55 percent. During the second period, Buffalo State outscoring the Knights 48 – 34, but could not overcome the first half deficit.
Geneseo controlled the glass, out-rebounding Buffalo State 46 – 31, and the Knights’ bench contributed 31 points, compared to 7 by Buffalo State.
Buffalo State was eliminated from State University of New York Athletic Conference playoff contention, with an overtime loss to Brockport on Feb. 22 and finished the season in seventh place, in the league standings.
Runge also scored 9 points and had seven rebounds, during a Feb. 8 loss to New Paltz College.
