WVCS bowling wins, loses some

WEST VALLEY — The West Valley boys bowling team lost all four games to an undefeated Gowanda Panthers team. Mike Nowak had the high game and series for the day, with 158 and 460. Derrick Miller came in second and had a personal best, with 146 and 396.

The girls lost all four games to the undefeated Gowanda Panthers. Lindsey Smith had the high single game, of 136, and Rachel Morton had the high three-game series, of 340. Morton also had the second-high game, of 134. The boys came away with one win against Cattaraugus Little Valley. The high single game and series went to Evan Williams, with a 156 and 440. Paul Davies followed closely behind, with 144 and 398.

The boys came up empty against Salamanca, losing all four games. The high single game went to Williams, with a 197, as did the high series, with a 472. Troy Hamblin had a personal best three-game series of 360. The girls also came up empty against CLV. The high single game went to Smith and Morton, with 104. The high three-game series went to Smith, with a 302.

The girls lost all four games against Salamanca. The high series went to Smith, with 330 pins. Morton was close behind, with 325. The high single went to Smith, with 142. The boys took all four games from Ellicottville. The high single game of the night went to Williams, with a 206. He also finished the night with a 496 series. The high three-game series went to Nowak, with a 560.

After what coach Jackie Mumbach called “a great effort,” the girls came up short against Ellicottville, losing all four games.The high game and series of the night went to Smith, with a 136 and 368.
