Girl Scout troop gets its kicks

WEST VALLEY — On Oct. 17 and 24, West Valley Girl Scout Troops 10381 and 10044 teamed up to participate in a self-defense class sponsored by Kempo Karate in Springville.

Sensei Colleen Morris and Sensei Taylor Townsend taught the girls self-defense techniques.

The Scouts practiced the techniques that they learned with the senseis, and learned when and how to use self-defense in a potentially dangerous situation.
