OVERCOMING THE COMPETITION — Nate Wolcott competes in the pentathlon.
Teammate Bunic also had a third place finish in the 3,000 steeplechase, but his 10:27.2 time made him an automatic qualifier for sectionals.
The Springville athletes took a break for most of the following week, before heading out to Hamburg High School for the Erie County Interscholastic Conference tournament, on May 24.
That evening began the competitions, which were scheduled to continue the following morning, on May 25.
Sectionals will begin on Friday, May 31, and continue on June 1.
