S-GI track members place at meet

SPRINGVILLE — The Springville-Griffith indoor track team traveled to a varsity select meet at Buffalo State College on Jan. 10.
Jess Wojtkowiak place second in the 3,000-meter, with a time of 11 minutes, 24.3 seconds and third in the 1,500- meter with a time of 5:24.8.
Sara Marren set a new personal best record, with a long jump of 12 feet, 1 inch.
Ashley Lenau set a new personal record, with a high jump of 4 feet, 4 inches.
Brandon Ball set a new personal record, with a long jump of 14 feet, 9 inches and Matt Adams set a new personal record, with a long jump of 13 feet, 7 inches.
On Jan. 11, in the seventh-10th grade championships, new personal records in the 55 hurdles were set by Alix Dubel, at 12.06, and Megan Stoddard, at 12.44. Aliya Duchnick set a personal best record, in the high jump at 4 feet, 2 inches.
Elle Russell took a first place in the 3,000, with a sectional qualifying time of 11:39.63 and Kalei Brautlacht placed fifth, in 1,000 at 3:42.76.
Ashley Broeneman set a new personal record, in the 1,000 at 4:0-4.46.
Russell also placed fourth in the 1,500-meter at 5:31.94.
The 4-by-400 relay team of Katherine Clark, Dubel, Kierstin Komenda and Talia Mangano, placed third with a time of 5:09.94.
The 4-by-200 relay team of Brautlacht, Molly Darling, McKenzie Maloy and Corrin Sacilowski placed third,with a time of 2:09.85.
Abby Roy placed fifth in the triple jump, with a jump of 28 feet, 1.5 inches and Darling placed sixth, with a jump of 26 feet, 6.25 inches.
Nick Lavanture placed first, in the high jump, with a jump of 5 feet, 8 inches, which qualified him for sectionals.
In overall rankings, Springville women placed third in the meet, for the ninth and under division.
