Southern Tier Shootout successful

SPRINGVILLE—More than 80 local boys participated in the first annual Boys & Girls Club of Springville’s Southern Tier Shootout. Teams from Springville, Gowanda, Pioneer, Lake Shore and West Valley took their game to the Springville Youth Inc. outdoor basketball courts during the Dairy Festival, to participate in half-court, double-elimination tournament to showcase their talent. In all, 21 teams participated in front of nearly 200 spectators during the day-long event, which featured some of the top high school players from the area.

Fifth and sixth grade winners were Austin Boies, Eric Copleland and Alex Elkins.

Seventh and eighth grade winners were Nate Brawdy, Ryan Bradley and Nolan Rosier.

High school winners were Ravo Root, Bryce Little, Matt Haggerty and Vinny Nourse.
