H&K Publications Inc., a publisher of weekly shopping guides and newspapers in Western New York, including the Springville Journal, has purchased the Empire Pennysaver which circulates in the Allegany and Olean areas.

A girl was born to:

Jessica (nee Brown) and Chad Hemond, formerly of Springville, at Lewiston Hospital, Lewiston, Pa., Aug. 21, Margaret Rose. Maternal grandfather is William Brown of Springville.

Loftis – May – Carol May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wittmeyer of Springville, and Earl Loftis III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Wengewicz of Springville, were married on June 14, at St. Mary’s Church in New Oregon by the Rev. Damian.
