The Annual Springville Ducky Derby returns on July 30

SPRINGVILLE – The Ducky Derby returns this year as part of the Fiddle Fest on Saturday, July 30 at 6 p.m. in Shuttleworth Park. The Ducky Derby is an annual, affordable and family-fun event sponsored by the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Last year over 500 ducks entered the hybrid in-person and Facebook live-streamed race. This year the Derby will include the pre-race show featuring the business sponsors of the race, followed by the quick sprint of the ducks down Spring Brook over rapids, rocks and riffles. This year, spectators can watch and cheer on their ducks as it is live-streamed on the Chamber’s Facebook Page (@springvillechamber) or attend the race in-person as their ducks race to the finish gate.

Tickets are one for $5 or three for $10 and are available at the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce Office in the Lucy Bensley Center, Springville Hardware, Emerling Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Shamel Milling and at the Chamber Info Booth at the Fiddle Fest. Buy a duck and name it, and if it wins the duck will be on the winners’ podium and the owner will receive cash. The First Place is $250, Second Place is $125, and Third Place Prize is $75.

A special thank you to the sponsors of the Ducky Derby: Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, The Can Man, CHBWV, Dilly Dallies Spices and Sauces, Emerling Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Gernatt Asphalt, Jim Merenick State Farm, Jim Murphy Chevrolet, Julie’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, Bill and Ginny Krebs, Metro Kirsch Real Estate, The Pillittere Group, Shamel Milling, Sheret Jewelers, The Sleeping Lady, Springville Door and Window, Springville Hardware, Springville Pharmacy, Tim’s Auto and Village Optical.
